AllStars Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the California DMV to offer driver training courses in California?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in California.  We suggest you contact the California DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is accredited before you register for their driving course.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in California.
I can't drive a manual-shift. Will AllStars Driving School allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact AllStars Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before signing up to take their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will AllStars Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a rural area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like AllStars Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact AllStars Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before signing up to take their training course.
I'm turning 14 in a few weeks. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in California after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the California DMV office or a California-certified driving school such as AllStars Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
I live in San Jose California. Does the law say I have to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers successfully complete both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
California law says that I must enroll in a hands-on driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in San Jose California. Is this something that AllStars Driving School can help me with?
Yes, AllStars Driving School offers the California-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact AllStars Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a California driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to register for both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the California DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Do I have to take a San Jose California driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in California must enroll in an approved behind-the-wheel training course in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.  Please contact AllStars Driving School for information on the types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer in San Jose California.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class in California before I receive my California learners permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like AllStars Driving School and request more information.
