City Driving School FAQ's

Is City Driving School a certified driving school in Florida?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Florida.  We highly recommend that you contact City Driving School directly or the Florida DMV to find out for sure if City Driving School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Florida.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to attend a professional driver training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to do your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do I need to tell City Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to operate a stick-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift car!  We recommend that you ask City Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you enroll in their driver training course.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will City Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driving school like City Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Florida?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as City Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Florida.
Can I take City Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Apopka Florida drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Florida's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Florida's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact City Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in Apopka Florida. Do you know if City Driving School offers driver training classes in Apopka Florida?
Yes, City Driving School does offer defensive driving courses in Apopka Florida.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their behind-the-wheel training courses, please contact City Driving School directly.
What do I need to do to get a Florida drivers license in Apopka Florida?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  City Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in Florida.  Please contact City Driving School for more information.

Is there a law in Florida that requires me to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Florida mandates that all teen-agers take an approved driver training course before receiving a Florida driver's license.
Will Florida allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you receive your learner's permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
