A Driving & Traffic School FAQ's

Is A Driving & Traffic School a certified driving school in Florida?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Florida.  We highly recommend that you contact A Driving & Traffic School directly or the Florida DMV to find out for sure if A Driving & Traffic School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Florida.
Do you know if I can complete my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like A Driving & Traffic School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Florida DMV or A Driving & Traffic School directly to find out if Florida allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will A Driving & Traffic School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a West Palm Beach Florida behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a manual-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let A Driving & Traffic School know what your preference is before registering for their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a small rural town, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with A Driving & Traffic School include learning how to drive in remote areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the driver training you receive from A Driving & Traffic School will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
Now that I'm 14, will Florida allow me to get an instruction permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the Florida DMV office or a Florida-approved driving school such as A Driving & Traffic School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Florida.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in West Palm Beach Florida or do I also have to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Florida's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to register for a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I'm required to take a driver training course in West Palm Beach Florida. Do you know if A Driving & Traffic School offers driver training classes in West Palm Beach Florida?
Yes, A Driving & Traffic School does offer defensive driving courses in West Palm Beach Florida.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their behind-the-wheel training courses, please contact A Driving & Traffic School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Florida driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Florida DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to meet in order to obtain your first driver's license.
What are the laws in Florida concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Florida law states that new drivers take an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Can I sign up to take a Florida-licensed driver training course even if I don't have my Florida learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that require a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Florida learners permit before registering in a Florida driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as A Driving & Traffic School and ask for more information.
