Advanced Drivers Education FAQ's

Can you tell me if Advanced Drivers Education is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although Advanced Drivers Education is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach driver training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Advanced Drivers Education directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Advanced Drivers Education offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
Do you know if I can do my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like Advanced Drivers Education?
Some states allow teen-agers to complete their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the Texas DMV or Advanced Drivers Education directly to find out if Texas allows parent-taught driver training.
Do you know if Advanced Drivers Education will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Advanced Drivers Education and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Advanced Drivers Education be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Advanced Drivers Education will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Advanced Drivers Education to find out exactly what their driver training course includes before signing up to take their training course.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Advanced Drivers Education to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Do I have to complete a Allen Texas drivers education classroom course or online course before signing up to take one of Advanced Drivers Education's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Advanced Drivers Education if they offer one or both programs.
I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course in Allen Texas. Can I meet this requirement by enrolling in Advanced Drivers Education?
Yes, Advanced Drivers Education offers defensive driving courses in Allen Texas.  You will need to contact Advanced Drivers Education directly to get more information on the types of courses they offer and when to register for a class.
Exactly what type of driver training do I need in Allen Texas before I can get my Texas driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to sign up to take a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Advanced Drivers Education and ask if they offer a Texas-approved  driver training course which would fulfill Texas's driver's education requirements.
What does the law in Texas say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
