Texas Driving School FAQ's
Can you tell me if Texas Driving School is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although Texas Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas. We recommend either calling Texas Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Texas Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
Will the Texas DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly. Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor. You will need to contact the Texas DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in Texas.
What happens if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift vehicle? Will Texas Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of vehicle--stick-shift or automatic-shift! However, if you prefer to complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Texas Driving School and inform them before you register for their behind-the-wheel training course. That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Texas Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Texas Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain. We recommend that you contact Texas Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
