First Class Driver FAQ's
First Class Driver is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if First Class Driver is a licensed school in Texas?
While we include a list of driver training schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Texas DMV. We suggest you contact First Class Driver directly or the Texas DMV to find out if First Class Driver is a fully-accredited driving school.
Do you know if I can do my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like First Class Driver?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school. We recommend that you contact the Texas DMV or First Class Driver directly to find out if Texas allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile? Does First Class Driver have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Fort Worth Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic. However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell First Class Driver that prior to signing up to take the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will First Class Driver be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like First Class Driver will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain. You may wish to contact First Class Driver to find out exactly what their driver training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Can I get my Texas instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no. Most states have set the minimum age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½. You may want to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like First Class Driver to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Can I take First Class Driver's driver training course before taking a Fort Worth Texas defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Texas's laws say. However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Texas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course. We recommend that you contact First Class Driver directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.

What type of driver ed do I need before Texas will give me a driver's license?
