Midlothian Driving School FAQ's

How do I know if Midlothian Driving School is licensed by Texas's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Midlothian Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Midlothian Driving School is licensed by the State of Texas.  We recommend that you either contact Midlothian Driving School directly or possibly the Texas DMV to find out if Midlothian Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
What if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile? Does Midlothian Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my behind-the-wheel training?
If you're taking a Midlothian Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Midlothian Driving School that prior to signing up to take the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
Since I live way out in the country where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Midlothian Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Midlothian Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Midlothian Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Can I get my Texas learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction school like Midlothian Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Can I take Midlothian Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Midlothian Texas defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Texas's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Texas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Midlothian Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
