3A Security Driving Academy FAQ's

3A Security Driving Academy's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed behind the wheel training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact 3A Security Driving Academy directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if 3A Security Driving Academy is a licensed school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving instructor in Texas, so taking a Tyler driving school course like the one 3A Security Driving Academy offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driver training school like 3A Security Driving Academy and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will 3A Security Driving Academy have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Tyler Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let 3A Security Driving Academy know what your preference is before registering for their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will 3A Security Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like 3A Security Driving Academy will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will Texas allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit.  We recommend that your contact the Texas DMV office or a Texas-approved driver training institute such as 3A Security Driving Academy to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Texas.
Do I have to complete a Tyler Texas drivers education classroom course or online course before registering for one of 3A Security Driving Academy's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask 3A Security Driving Academy if they offer one or both programs.
If I need to sign up to take a Tyler Texas behind-the-wheel training program, can 3A Security Driving Academy help?
Yes.  3A Security Driving Academy offers driving courses in Tyler Texas.  For more information about the type of driver training 3A Security Driving Academy offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
I live in Tyler Texas. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first Texas driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Texas, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  3A Security Driving Academy may offer courses which would meet the driver training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
What does the law in Texas say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Texas law states that new drivers enroll in an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Will Texas allow me to register for a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course.
