Reeder Driving School FAQ's

Is Reeder Driving School licensed by the Illinois DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include Reeder Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Peoria Illinois, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Reeder Driving School is certified by the Illinois DMV.  You should contact Reeder Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Peoria Illinois driver training class.
Will the Illinois DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Illinois DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Illinois.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Reeder Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call Reeder Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with Reeder Driving School include being taught how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Reeder Driving School will include handling unpaved roads and mountain driving.
Can I get my Illinois instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction school like Reeder Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Illinois.
Do I have to complete a Peoria Illinois drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Reeder Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Reeder Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
Illinois's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Reeder Driving School offers this course or not?
Reeder Driving School does offer the driver training course that Illinois requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Reeder Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Reeder Driving School directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Illinois will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now require all new, young drivers to register for a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  Reeder Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in Illinois.  Please contact either Reeder Driving School or the Illinois DMV for more information.
Is a driver training course a prerequisite in Peoria Illinois for me to get a drivers license?

Is it okay for me to register for a driver training class in Illinois before I receive my Illinois instruction permit to drive?
