Road Ready Driver Training FAQ's

How do I know if Road Ready Driver Training is certified by Nebraska's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include Road Ready Driver Training's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Road Ready Driver Training is licensed by the State of Nebraska.  We recommend that you either contact Road Ready Driver Training directly or possibly the Nebraska DMV to find out if Road Ready Driver Training is a certified driver training school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Road Ready Driver Training?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Nebraska DMV or a licensed driving school like Road Ready Driver Training to find out if Nebraska allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will Road Ready Driver Training allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift automobile?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating any type of automobile--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Road Ready Driver Training and inform them before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Road Ready Driver Training include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Road Ready Driver Training will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
I'm turning 14 in a few days. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in Nebraska after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Nebraska DMV office or a Nebraska-certified driving school such as Road Ready Driver Training to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Am I required to take a Lincoln Nebraska classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a driver training course through Road Ready Driver Training?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should ask Road Ready Driver Training if they offer one or both programs.
I have to take a behind-the-wheel class in Lincoln Nebraska before Nebraska will give me my driver's license. Does Road Ready Driver Training offer this type of course?
Road Ready Driver Training does offer the driver training course in Lincoln Nebraska that is required by the State of Nebraska.  You will need to contact Road Ready Driver Training directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
Exactly what type of driver training do I need in Lincoln Nebraska before I can get my Nebraska driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Road Ready Driver Training and ask if they offer a Nebraska-approved  driver training course which would meet Nebraska's driver's education requirements.
What does the law in Nebraska say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Nebraska law states that new drivers successfully complete an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Will Nebraska allow me to enroll in a driver training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
