National Driving Academy FAQ's
Is National Driving Academy an approved driving school in Wisconsin?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Wisconsin. We highly recommend that you contact National Driving Academy directly or the Wisconsin DMV to find out for sure if National Driving Academy offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Wisconsin.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license. However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught driver training course. We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if National Driving Academy makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic! If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call National Driving Academy and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course. That way you'll know for sure whether National Driving Academy will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will National Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like National Driving Academy will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Wisconsin?
Possibly. However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit. We recommend that you contact the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as National Driving Academy to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Wisconsin.
