Benson's Driving School FAQ's
Since Benson's Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the New Hampshire DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only. We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the New Hampshire DMV. You may want to call Benson's Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in. There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school. However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course. We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Benson's Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic! If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Benson's Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course. That way you'll know for certain whether Benson's Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a small mountain community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my driver training with Benson's Driving School include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area. Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Benson's Driving School will include handling unpaved roads and mountain driving.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in New Hampshire?
Possibly. However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit. We recommend that you contact the New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Benson's Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in New Hampshire.
Do I have to complete a Fremont New Hampshire drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Benson's Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course. You may want to ask Benson's Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
