B&K DRIVING SCHOOL FAQ's
Since B&K DRIVING SCHOOL is listed on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the New Jersey DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only. We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the New Jersey DMV. You may want to call B&K DRIVING SCHOOL directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in. There are some states which allow you to do your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school. However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course. We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do I need to tell B&K DRIVING SCHOOL that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile! We recommend that you ask B&K DRIVING SCHOOL if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift car before you sign up to take their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will B&K DRIVING SCHOOL include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like B&K DRIVING SCHOOL will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in New Jersey?
Possibly. However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit. We recommend that you contact the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as B&K DRIVING SCHOOL to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in New Jersey.
Am I required to take a WILLIAMSTOWN New Jersey classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a driver training course through B&K DRIVING SCHOOL?
This requirement varies by state but most states do mandate new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course. You should ask B&K DRIVING SCHOOL if they offer one or both programs.
New Jersey's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if B&K DRIVING SCHOOL offers this course or not?
B&K DRIVING SCHOOL does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that New Jersey requires all new teen-aged drivers to take. For more information about the courses B&K DRIVING SCHOOL offers, we recommend that you contact B&K DRIVING SCHOOL directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before New Jersey will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to complete a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course. B&K DRIVING SCHOOL may be able to help you meet the driver training requirement in New Jersey. Please contact either B&K DRIVING SCHOOL or the New Jersey DMV for more information.
Is it necessary for me to sign up for a driver training course in order to get my first New Jersey driver's license?

Am I required to receive my learner's permit in New Jersey before I am allowed to sign up to take a driver training course like the one B&K DRIVING SCHOOL gives its students?
