Drive Rite FAQ's

Drive Rite is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if Drive Rite is a certified school in Michigan?
While we include a list of driver training schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Michigan DMV.  We suggest you contact Drive Rite directly or the Michigan DMV to find out if Drive Rite is a fully-accredited driver training school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
Do you know if Drive Rite will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Drive Rite and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will Drive Rite train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Drive Rite will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Michigan?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Michigan Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Drive Rite to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Michigan.
Do I have to complete a Muskegon Michigan drivers education classroom course or online course before signing up to take one of Drive Rite's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Drive Rite if they offer one or both programs.
Michigan law says that I must sign up to take a hands-on driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in Muskegon Michigan. Is this something that Drive Rite can help me with?
Yes, Drive Rite offers the Michigan-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact Drive Rite directly.
I live in Muskegon Michigan. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Michigan driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Michigan, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Drive Rite may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Is a driver training course a prerequisite in Muskegon Michigan for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Michigan requires that all drivers complete a behind-the-wheel training course as part of their driver education.  You should contact Drive Rite directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Can I sign up to take a Michigan-approved driver training course even if I don't have my Michigan learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Michigan learners permit before registering in a Michigan driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Drive Rite and ask for more information.
