Global Driving School FAQ's
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-licensed by the California DMV to offer driver training courses in California?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer driving training courses in California. We suggest you contact the California DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you register for their driving course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to attend a professional driver training course?
It depends on which state you live in. There are some states which allow you to complete your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school. However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course. We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do I need to tell Global Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift car! We recommend that you ask Global Driving School if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you register for their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Global Driving School will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Global Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Global Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on bumpy terrain. If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Global Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you sign up with them.
I'm turning 14 in a few weeks. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in California after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no. Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit. Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the California DMV office or a California-certified driving school such as Global Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Am I required to take a Fremont California classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course through Global Driving School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do mandate new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course. You should ask Global Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a driver training course in Fremont California. Do you know if Global Driving School offers defensive driving classes in Fremont California?
Yes, Global Driving School does offer defensive driving courses in Fremont California. For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their driver training courses, please contact Global Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a California driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course. You may wish to contact the California DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is a behind-the-wheel training course required in Fremont California for me to get a drivers license?
The law in California requires that all drivers complete a behind-the-wheel training course as part of their driver education. You should contact Global Driving School directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class in California before I receive my California learners permit to drive?
Probably not. Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to register for a behind-the-wheel training program. You should contact a driving instruction company like Global Driving School and request more information.
