RST Mobility Services FAQ's
How do I know if RST Mobility Services is licensed by Texas's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include RST Mobility Services's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether RST Mobility Services is certified by the State of Texas. We recommend that you either contact RST Mobility Services directly or possibly the Texas DMV to find out if RST Mobility Services is a certified driver training school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license. However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course. We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if RST Mobility Services makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic! If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call RST Mobility Services and let them know before you enroll in their driver training course. That way you'll know for sure whether RST Mobility Services can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will RST Mobility Services be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a rural area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like RST Mobility Services will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain. You may wish to contact RST Mobility Services to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly. However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit. We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as RST Mobility Services to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Do I have to complete a McAllen Texas drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of RST Mobility Services's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course. You may want to ask RST Mobility Services if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in McAllen Texas. Do you know if RST Mobility Services offers behind-the-wheel training classes in McAllen Texas?
