Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas. We highly recommend that you contact DFW Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out for sure if DFW Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Texas.
Will the Texas DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly. Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor. You will need to contact the Texas DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Texas.
I can't operate a stick-shift. Will DFW Driving School allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact DFW Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will DFW Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?

Are 14-year-olds allowed to apply for a learner's permit in Texas?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½. You will need to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction company like DFW Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Texas.
